Services at Our Omaha Office
Learn more about the many orthodontic services we offer in Omaha, Nebraska.
Traditional braces are affixed to the teeth with metal brackets. A horseshoe-shaped arch wire is threaded through the brackets and held in place using elastic rubber bands. The wire and braces put pressure on the teeth and over time, and this gradual pressure forces teeth to move into proper alignment. Braces can correct a number of orthodontic issues, such as general misalignment, crooked teeth, gaps between teeth, overcrowding, overbites and underbites, and more. We offer several types of braces options at Braces Omaha, including traditional metal braces made of stainless steel, clear or tooth-colored ceramic braces, and WildSmiles® designer braces, which come in a variety of shapes. At checkup appointments, you can mix and match different colors of elastics that go around your brackets, and wear braces in your own stylish way!
Invisalign straightens teeth by using clear aligners. Similar to braces, these clear aligners use gradual force to move teeth into their correct positions. Invisalign can correct many of the same orthodontic issues as braces, such as an overbite, underbite, crossbite, open bite, crowded teeth, and general misalignment. You will wear your clear aligners for about 22 hours every day and receive a new set of trays every 2 weeks. Invisalign is an excellent orthodontic treatment option for patients who desire straighter teeth, but wish to avoid the look and feel of braces. Because there are no brackets or wires fixed to your teeth, there are no dietary restrictions or appliances to clean around. Simply remove your aligners to eat and brush, and carry on with your everyday activities while your Invisalign works to straighten your smile!
Why Choose an Orthodontist
Orthodontists are dental professionals who prevent, diagnose, and treat irregularities of the teeth and jaws. Through a variety of treatments and oral appliances, they help patients achieve straighter and healthier smiles. With specialized training and education to manage many orthodontic conditions, orthodontists are experts at creating detailed treatment plans, timing and supervising treatment, and working with patients to achieve exceptional results while promoting long-term dental health.
Some dentists offer clear aligner treatment or other orthodontic services, but these treatments make up only a portion of their practice. An orthodontist, however, primarily focuses on orthodontic treatment and has undergone additional training beyond dental school to manage orthodontic problems. In addition to his training and education, Dr. Stevens at Braces Omaha took the extra initiative to become board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. To achieve and maintain this prestigious certification, he has undergone a written and clinical examination process and continuously upholds the highest standards of patient care.
